Visit Boston’s Best Beer Gardens
Boston is surely known for its drinking culture from hole-in-the-wall pubs to modern craft breweries to cold pints at a game. Beantown is a whole lot of fun with a drink in your hand. We want to take this party outside to enjoy the rest of summer to its fullest! Boston has a ton of awesome outdoor spaces and bars and we’ve narrowed it down to our favorite places to crack a brew open. Keep reading for a list of Boston’s best beer gardens!
Craft Collective Beer Barn at SoWa Open Market
This spacious beer hall is new to the SoWa collection this year and so far this summer it’s been a hit! The beer hall and tap room are housed in the iconic SoWa Power Station. The space has been created in partnership with Craft Collective and showcases a hand-picked selection of local beers and ciders. But wait, there’s more…live music and lawn games are another part of the summer magic of this space.
Trillium Brewing Company Greenway Garden
This is the spot for Boston beer lovers! This beer garden brought to you by Trillium Brewing, a family owned brewing company, has a growing initiative to cultivate temporary seasonal spaces in which to enjoy their beer. This year they are back in the Rose Kennedy Greenway. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped off the city streets and into a woody beer haven.
Sweet Cheeks Q
Tucked away right in the heart of the Fenway neighborhood is this gem of a beer garden that has people flocking to it from open to close. An extension of their rustic, Texas-style restaurant, Sweet Cheeks has made this beer garden intimate and welcoming with a wooden beer shed that the bartenders serve out of. It’s a great place to wind down after the day or get ready to enjoy a summer Sox game!
Owl’s Nest by Night Shift Brewing
Locally-owned Night Shift Brewing has begun a series of seasonal pop-up beer gardens around the city and we love them! Kick back and enjoy a brew by the water. In addition to their delicious selection of beers they also typically offer family- and dog-friendly spaces, community-oriented events, bathroom stations, food trucks, games, and bike racks. It doesn’t get better than that.
The Patio Bar at Cinquecento
One of our favorite South End eateries also has one of the best patio bars that you have to check out! This Italian Trattoria has an outdoor bar made from a shipping container (talk about crafty!) and lots of room to sit. The setting is cool and modern, the drinks are cold, and the vibe is easygoing. See you there!
The Patios at City Hall Plaza
This local gathering spot right in the middle of City Hall Plaza is a little getaway tucked in one of the busiest neighborhoods in Boston. There are nine custom patio areas, a main pavilion structure, Wachusett Brew Yard, pop-up snack shop, and mini golf stations. We know, you want to move in. Us too! Once you’re there you definitely won’t want to leave. So don’t! Take your time and enjoy.
