Hey there! We’re Bites of Boston Food Tours and our goal is to showcase Boston through the lens of local food, get off the beaten path, and introduce a unique perspective. Never been on a food tour? Well, keep reading and we’ll tell you what ours are all about. Bites of Boston was founded in 2011, and it all began with our first local food tour in Boston’s South End neighborhood. Twelve years later, we have since expanded our offerings to two other neighborhoods, as well as a to collection of locally curated gift boxes. What we offer extends well beyond just taking guests to different restaurants and serving food. We offer a novel way for urban explorers to get to know Boston, and make lasting memories in our beautiful city!

Our walking tour experiences are thoughtfully designed to offer a “taste” of Boston’s neighborhoods, both literally and figuratively. We believe foods from beloved neighborhood eateries taste even better when served in the greater context of fascinating history and modern culture, and we are passionate about supporting local restaurants and fellow small businesses in the process!

How do we do it?

1. We offer Walking Food Tours in three awesome neighborhoods: The South End, Downtown & Chinatown

At Bites of Boston, our goal is to combine the best of touring and tasting for a truly unique, one-of-a-kind way to experience Boston. Our tours visit beloved, long-standing local eateries, and we know you’ll be impressed with the stories and fascinating insider information we have to share at each location!  Moreover, because we believe food is best enjoyed when served in the context of your local surroundings, on our tours, the learning goes way beyond the food. On top of 4-6 delicious food tastings, you’ll also enjoy a hearty helping of neighborhood historical, architectural, and cultural information, when you take any of our tours.  Over the course of 3-hours, you’ll stroll the streets, visit points of local and historical interest, and experience Boston culture in the company of a friendly, knowledgeable local tour guide.  To learn even more about what our tours look like click here!

2. We offer Private Food Tours in those same neighborhoods for group outings (think corporate team-building, bachelorette parties, birthday celebrations, etc.)

If you have a larger group or something to celebrate, we would love to help you make the occasion extra special by taking you and your group on a Private Food Tour of one of the neighborhoods we offer tours in. We will work with you to customize a food tour experience for your group, so you can eat, explore, and enjoy Boston with your friends, family, co-workers, or whoever is lucky enough to be on the invite list! Private Food Tour Experiences are great for company or corporate outings, team building and bonding, and to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays, bachelorette parties, or just a day out on the town with your friends or family. We’ll walk you through the whole process, literally!

3. We offer locally curated Gift Boxes!

As a pivot project during covid, we came up with another way to eat and explore Boston through a local lens with curated gift boxes!  We created a way to ship and deliver a Boston experience when the shutdown prevented us from offerings experiences in person. We fell in love with the project, and fellow local small business owners, and three years later, our boxes live on as part of our permanent offering!  Our gift boxes extend beyond just the food space to include and promote other small local businesses that are not offering edible products – but, of course, most of them are food-related!

We’ve created a collection of gift boxes filled with products from local makers that share a fun theme. Each box includes story cards, which share fun facts and information about each local business, owner, and product in the box. Essentially, it’s like a local tour experience in a box, delivered right to your mailbox!  Our gift boxes make great gifts for any occasion – and especially for friends and family with ties to Boston!  Our gift boxes have also become popular for corporate gifting, incoming college students, and new residents.  We are always happy to work with you to fulfill your gifting needs and LOVE creative collaborations!
