Our Favorite Halloween Drinks & Treats in and Around Boston
Halloween is the ultimate treat-yo-self holiday and let’s be honest, for adults the focus gets split between the booze and the candy. While we love a good treat, we’ve chosen to replace the tricks with drinks this year! This list highlights a variety of different specialty cocktails and sweet treats in and around Boston that you can celebrate with this Halloween. Let’s get SPOOKY!
Spooky Sips at The Flamingo
If the chill in the air is already making you crave the beach, then vibe out for spooky season at this retro Miami Beach inspired restaurant and bar in Boston. They’re offering some cocktail specials for Halloween such as the Type: OH+ and some floating eye ball shots. Major points for creativity here!
Never too Old to Trick-or-Treat Gift Bag from Bites of Boston
If you’re like us and you never quite grew out of your trick-or-treating phase, then this Halloween goodie bag is for you! Our Never too Old to Trick-or-Treat Gift Bag is filled with a fun collection of nostalgic and modern sweet treats from local Boston makers. Send this to your favorite student who is away at college, your best friend who you used to trick-or-treat with or get one for yourself!
Selkie’s Scream’ from Shore Leave
If you want an immersive Halloween experience then head to Shore Leave, aka “Scare Leave.” For the entire month of October, Shore Leave transforms into Scare Leave for their month-long Halloween Party. Enjoy spooky new cocktails, thousands of decorations, and a series of fun events inside their decorated space. We are loving the Selkie’s Scream cocktail made with vodka, lime, raspberry, and elderflower in a Scream mug. As they like to say, there’s a trick or a treat behind each corner!
Fudgenstein Cookie from Southie Cookie
A treat inside of a treat is what we’re TALKING ABOUT! The Fudgenstein cookie from Southie Cookie is the flavor of the month and it’s a massive chocolate fudge cookie packed with Snickers®, Twix®, and Halloween Kit Kats®, filled with a Mini Reese’s® Cup and topped with spooky sprinkles. You’re gonna want to get your hands on a dozen…or two…
Southie Cookie is a small business in South Boston owned by Maude, who moved there in 2020 and quickly realized there was nowhere to get a thick, gooey cookie in the neighborhood – so she started making them in her small apartment kitchen. Interest from South Boston residents began to grow and to her amazement, people were willing to line up outside her apartment door to pick up their cookie orders. Needless to say she went all in on the business, moved production to a commercial kitchen and added shipping as an option. You can still pick up the cookies from designated locations, but not from her apartment anymore.
Phantom’s Potion from Nightshift Brewing
Night Shift Brewing began as an idea by a trio of roommates who started home-brewing beer for friends and family in a small kitchen in Somerville and has grown to be one of Boston’s most beloved beers. They have a taproom in Everett that is open every day for draft beers, cocktails, wine, to-go sales, and a wide variety of both public and private events. The Halloween cocktail that caught our eye is called the Phantom’s Potion. This bewitching cocktail features their house vodka, blue curacao, pineapple juice, dragonfruit syrup, and obviously gets garnished with a spooky spider ring. We’re all about a garnish that can double as an accessory.
Halloween Treats from Cupcake Mojo
Cupcake Mojo is run by a mom and daughter duo who were featured on Food Networks’ Cupcake Wars back in 2012. They partner with Wahlburgers and you can buy their sweet treats at Wahlburgers locations in Hingham, Lynnfield, Fenway, and Dorchester. As they love “baking people happy” it’s only fitting that they have a creative selection of Halloween cupcake flavors available as well as their special Graveyard Pull-Apart Cupcakes and their Halloween Mojar.
Halloween Cocktail Specials from Loco Taqueria
Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar is a South Boston mainstay slinging tequila shots, margs, and tacos to thirsty Southie residents seven days a week. The party never stops there and they keep it going for Halloween with their selection of spooky cocktails. Drink-or-treat to the tune of the Monstah Mash (gin, ginger liqueur, lemon, blackberries, honey), the Witches Brew (vanilla & pumpkin vodka, rumchata pumpkin, chocolat salted caramel liqueur, pumpkin puree, graham cracker rim), or the Grave Digger (bacardi dark, cazadores cafe, pumpkin puree, irish creme liqueur, cold brew, black lava salt rim *also available frozen*).
Spooky Sprinkles & Creepy Cones at Honeycomb Creamery
Honeycomb Creamery is a small batch ice cream shop in Cambridge whose flavors are born from their staff’s imaginations. When making a flavor of ice cream, they do their best to find local, in-season ingredients; and all of their milk and heavy cream comes from the beautiful and well-cared for Jersey cows at Mapleline Farm in Hadley, MA. They lean into each season with special flavors and in celebration of Halloween, they’ve brought back their homemade Creepy Cones and Spooky Sprinkles, the perfect vessel and topping for their fall ice cream flavors. It’s definitely a treat we look forward to!
